According to the requirements of Chairman Xi Jinping, Chongqing will build a “World Hot Spring Valley” and play a leading role in the development of the enlarged health industry and the integration of culture and tourism. “Hot Spring Health” & “Climate Health” will become the new city cards, and make Chongqing a world-class hot spring tourist destination and a top hot spring resort. In March 2018, 10 members of the former Hot Spring Tourism Branch of the Chongqing Tourism Association initiated and founded the Chongqing Hot Spring Tourism Industry Association. On October 16, 2018, the 1^st International Symposium on Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy Tourism of China was held in Beibei District. Leaders of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development awarded the license of Chongqing Hot Spring Tourism Industry Association, which marked its formal establishment. At present, there are 40 members in total.

The purpose is to build the bridges and links between the government and enterprises, to implement relevant administrative tasks about building and upgrading the Global Capital of Hot Springs, to provide all-round services for construction, management and development of hot spring tourism enterprises, to carry out industrial activities, such as hot spring culture and branding, marketing, cultivating of the consumers & the industry chain, the hot spring market norms, team building and external exchanges, etc. 

In 2020, Chongqing started a new journey to upgrade the brand of the Global Capital of Hot Springs and to build the “World Hot Spring Valley”.
